Today was a little less nutty, workwise, though a day doesn’t go by that something doesn’t break, or need paint, or alarm, or get too hot, or get too cold, or get too blowy or not blowy enough. It’s best if I look at it as job security or else I’d go a little nuts. Just a little. The kind of nuts where you deaden the pain by eating Ghiardelli squares. Oh, wait…I’m already doing that. But the evening was redeemed by my homemade meatballs. Then after dinner…yeah, that helped, too. We both took Monday off on account of going to a Super Bowl party Sunday night and not wanting to feel all Sunday-night-icky whilst partying. We didn’t do anything earth-shattering with our free day, but did see “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” (free passes!) and had the theatre all to ourselves. Loved the movie and it was fun to stretch out and chat when we wanted to (though I’m solidly anti-talking if others are present). Funny thing is, we still whispered. A late birthday present made it’s way to me today…a crisp deck of recipe cards and a gift card for a local craft store. Perfect, perfect, perfect. I love the Hanukkah birthday.
