shadow19's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clean Sweep After the holidays, when the Christmas weariness has passed, I’m struck with the urge to purge. And so I spent the evening purging the file cabinet of OLD bills, updating Quicken, and balancing my bank accounts (LONG overdue). A few weeks back I reorganized my gift wrap storage bins. What bliss to have that done! (Why do I feel compelled to hang onto every tiny scrap of wrapping paper? Well…no longer. The unusable pieces have been tossed.) Today, Fred bought me SJP’s “Lovely” perfume (or I guess it’s technically “parfum”) for my birthday on Monday. I was allowed to use it early, and so I’m smelling pretty darned nice, if I do say so myself. I’m not a perfume person, but I LOVE this one. After the perfume/parfum shopping, we browsed a furniture store and now have a new couch being delivered on the 31st. (How did that happen?) This one has a chaise section so we’ll both be able to sprawl out, and the old one really is worn (though structurally sound). I have trouble letting go, so the only real (internal) debate was over how we’re going to get rid of the old one. I’ve posted it on the college’s marketplace website and hope we get a taker. I’ll miss the little corner that Shadow was fond of scratching…and she’s been gone since 1999.
