shadow19's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trying to get comfortable.

I've changed my t-shirt about four times since I got home (very unlike me), and the current one isn't feeling quite right either. Be back in a minute.

THERE. That's better. I think the problem was that I've become averse to tucking in. Especially after work.

Fred's trimming shrubs like a wild man while I made dinner and our lunches, which isn't really a fair trade-off, but it's too darned hot for me. Well, too hot to be trimming shrubs (of which we have about thirty). I did grudgingly participate yesterday, though inside I was wishing that I was on the patio reading my book.

Last night my 17 year old nephew made a double followed by a grand slam in his American Legion baseball game. It was pretty darned cool...just like in the movies. Afterwards, he said that he'd downed three Red Bulls before the game. I gotta get me some of that stuff.

I gave blood for the first time today, and it was A-OK...especially the Lorna Doons that they encourage you to eat afterwards. There was a little trouble finding the vein (as expected), but I've been through much worse. (And without the promise of a shortbread cookie.) I also picked out a very nice college portfolio for my "prize." And there is also a free lunch reward on the horizon. Not that I did it for the loot. Well...maybe a little.

We had lunch at Pizza Hut yesterday (Fred's pick due to coupon) JUST after an elderly couple crashed their VW Beetle through the side wall of the place. The window was broken, the soda cooler was pushed in a few feet, and the woman apparently did not even realize that she'd hit the building. As the cops investigated, and the flat-bed came to haul away their car (which was in remarkably good shape), they calmly had their lunch, looking like nothing had happened. Can you say "Please surrender your license"?

I think we're gearing up for a walk. Boo's looking like he hopes we forget him, but we never do.

Must iron. Ick.
