Entry #75. Cool.
Let's be honest...
Things in the "Martha Stewart's Living" December issue that I will never do: 1) Make a Pistachio Dacquoise. If I can't pronounce it, I'm probably not making it. 2) Make felt slippers for guests or gifts. Not gonna happen. 3) Knit socks. They look nice, but hard. Three needles? No thanks. 4) Wrap match boxes with fabric and ribbon. 'Nuff said. 5) Create a snowman out of carnations. Again, cute, but not up my alley. 6) Eat a breakfast of poached egg over wilted spinach. Some mornings we're rushing to get the Lucky Charms poured. (And I'm convinced , anyway, that Lucky Charms make your day luckier. Really.) Things in the "Martha Stewart's Living" December issue that I MIGHT (someday) do: 1) Download and print gift adornments. Usually though, I'm frantically using stick-on bows at the last minute. 2) Make origami stars. I was following the directions until the final step. The jury's still out until I walk through it. 3) Build a gingercake house. Looks easier, actually, than a typical gingerbread house. 4) Bake some jam yogurt bread. Quite possible.
Things in the "Martha Stewart's Living" December issue that I'll probably do: 1) Make cream-cheese walnut cookies. A pound of butter? I'm there. 2) Bake chocolate marble bread with ganache. I'm a sucker for ganache. In fact, who needs the bread part? 3) Make mashed potatoes with horseradish. There's gotta be butter in those, right? Bottom line? Butter motivates.
