English pasta?

"Family Feud" is blasting out of the overhead speakers, but I'll try to block it and piece together an entry. Some of these answers, though, are hard to block. And hard to believe. (i.e., "Name something that England is famous for." Answer: Pasta. Yeah, okay. Why didn't I think of that?)

I really should whip up another batch of sugar water for the hummingbird. Sadly, this will take longer than it took to cook our dinner. (Dinner = dump a bag of pasta/chicken/veggies in a skillet and heat it up. Sure felt like cheating.) Fred worries that "our bird" (we're getting a little too possessive, aren't we?) will become diabetic given the copious volume of sweet water that it sucks down. He's kidding, but still, ya wonder.

Copious. My word of the week. I used it in a sentence today, and now I've just typed it. Not sure why I've latched onto this word. And why I feel compelled to use it. I'm starting to annoy even myself.

Mad house in the science stockroom today. All kinds of demands for stuff...chemicals, glassware, you name it. Guess that's why I'm there, right? But, gee, I had it all arranged so nicely...now it's all ratted up. Tomorrow I shall straighten. Yup, that's what I'll do. Restore order.

I drove home, after work, under a badly bruised sky. One almost expected funnel clouds. After ten minutes of torrential rain, the sun came out and we were able to take our nightly walk. The evening is a little steamy, which suits me just fine.

Still got plenty of strawberries. That's fine, too.
