shadow19's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solstice I had this weird visual disturbance just as I was closing up shop today. Not the normal "fizz" of a migraine aura, but sort of like I was looking through ripply water off in the periphery. On the ride home, it worsened, then faded. Now I have just a touch of a headache, and I'm thinking that it probably was something along the lines of a migraine. Right? (My mind has been known to race off in all directions...settling on the worst possible diagnosis...then veering off into funeral plans. My own, that is. Hey, I never said I was an optimist.) My father called from Pennsylvania, while our linguine was boiling, all frustrated because of some sort of AOL issue. And to make it even more fun, his cellphone kept dropping the call. I tried to call him back later, but of course he's turned his phone off, because...well...HE doesn't need to call anyone. I had a premonition that he'd call with a connecting issue since this is the first time that he's taken the laptop on vacation. Some things you just know. I'm making good progress with my "finish all of the half-read books" pledge. After finally wrapping up The Prodigal Summer, which took me a stupid amount of time to read, I'm now back to That Old Ace In the Hole. It helps that I now spend my lunch hour at a secluded picnic table where I soak up both sun and words. The night is still and on the warm side. They're saying rain, but I hope not. The downtown arts festival starts tomorrow, and rain just gums up the schedule. Still, we can enjoy free music under the big tent. The arts festival and strawberry season...summer is here. Enjoy. 7:35 p.m. - 2004-06-21 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
