shadow19's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Free at last. Pinch me. I'm free, I'm free...by gosh, I'm free! Well, for a week, anyway.Yup, my last day at work was yesterday. I got a bookmark, some lottery tickets, and a Panera gift card. They certainly know me. On Thursday, friends threw me a farewell lunch at Symeon's, the local Greek restaurant. Fun time...despite the fact that they lost our 22 person reservation and that I choked on my salad dressing. We all came away with epic garlic breath. That's how I measure a successful party. My new boss (Brian) sort of reminds me of my cousin Mark...almost looks like him and he's a LOUD TALKER, like Mark. He called me at work the other day, and a friend, a good 4 cubicles away, could hear him. Until I can move into the new science building (construction still in progress), I'll be sharing an office with him, and will bring along Fred's lawnmowing ear plugs. I'm getting psyched about the change...though apparently my first task will be to unpack chemicals and supplies that we'll be moving into the building. Brian's going to pack, and I'm going to unpack, and contracted movers will break the stuff in transit. I just love the fact that I will no longer be trapped inside a grey cubicle. Still feels fake. Fred turns 40 tomorrow. I suppose I should head out and pick up a gift or two. But why rush? Time for a chocolate chip cookie.
