shadow19's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The thaw. Yesterday was a gift...full bore sun from 6 am on, and the temperature spiked just enough to get us a little bit sweaty. Man...that's sweet. Fred was up WAY before me to do some raking and car washing. I lounged around until it was time for a bagel and a grapefruit. One must pace oneself, musn't one? We did not do much...just gussied up the yard a little and marvelled at the mildness of the day. We're so grateful this time of year...when the mud is drying up and the last crusty snow piles finally bleed away. All kinds of crap is revealed when the snowbanks disappear...cigarette cartons, Big Gulp cups, the disintegrated wall board that the contractors tossed under the pine tree...but that's easily gathered up. The matted grass has greened up a bit in only a few days. Before long, we'll be sitting in our driveway in the Amish rockers, feeling sun-baked and relaxed. I can't wait. 9:07 p.m. - 2004-03-29 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
